Fall for us is a time of sweaters and tea. Neither Etain Nor I are great with colder temperatures as you may have noticed on crisp mornings at Creekside Market. We're not trying to be all witchy with that velvet cloak, it is seriously the warmest thing we have and we're not above sharing it. The couple of times that I went horseback riding in the winter, I wore that cloak and I was not the only one grateful, I remember our horse, Thor, looking back with delighted eyes when I spread it out over his rump. As I write this it is 64 degrees and I'm in a hoodie with a space heater on me and a cup of oolong. We have just tipped the scales into more dark than light as yesterday was the equinox, so I thought it might be a good time to pull out the older writings and share them. Especially about Seasonal Affective Disorder. If you are starting to feel a little down, beginning to
feel your energy wane, I suggest reading those blogs. Granted not everyone is affected by it, but those of us living in the northern part of the US and Canada are more likely to experience the winter blues. It is so easy for me to drum up blissful energy during the summer, but as soon as fall hits, it can be a struggle and I'm generally a "look on the bright side" sort of person. I hope that if you are beginning to feel the same way, the two blogs below this one help get you through the colder months.
I enjoy writing and before we began the store, I was blogging on wholistic health and wellbeing. Since we have started our store, I realize I should reread and pay closer attention to my own writings as many of my healthier habits have fallen to the wayside due to alack of time and the sheer craziness that accompanies any business venture. All of that aside, I have spent many years dabbling in herbal remedies, Ayurvedic medicine, and wholistic living. I am in no way a master of any, but a dabbler of many. I can certainly share what I know with you in hopes that something you read clicks for you and helps make your life better. It's far easier to write during winter months as I have little desire to brave the cold weather.
We are planning to open up a storefront for the winter here in Morris and for the next few weeks will be working on that . I hope we are able to pull it off by November 1st, since it is the perfect time to begin new endeavors. It will also be the end of the Creekside Market season. Since I will be busy trying to get the store ready, I will be recycling some older blogs that I hope you will enjoy reading. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. If I don't know the answer, then I will research it and we can both learn something :)
I really just wanted to explain the reason behind recycling some of the older blogs and to give you an update on the hopeful store front. I hope you all had a fabulous and blessed Mabon and hopefully we will see you or hear from you in the coming months.
